"Can things be deprived of their origins?" asks Janos Huszti, a challenging portraitist and conceptual creator.

Huszti visually expounds on his constantly changing topics with momentum and precision. He depicts interior experiences, memorable characters and experiences from his past, using a variety of materials – but most consistently, oil on canvas – to express his conceptual inner life. He is also intrigued by the past in a broader context, in particular the history of his native Hungary. Through his art, he attributes new origins to existing subjects, creating new connections and relationships.
